Hello,

I’m April Ibarra. With over 35 years of dedicated experience in senior care, I bring a unique blend of professional expertise, gerontological insight, and heartfelt commitment to the aging journey. Holding a Master’s in Gerontology from Miami University, I am a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)®, an Aging Life Care Professional®, and have earned the Foundation for Wellness Certificate through the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA).

My approach is rooted in the belief that how we live—and how we think—profoundly shapes how we age. Thriving in later life begins with a clear vision and the courage to pursue it. This involves making thoughtful choices, focusing on what we can control, and crafting a personalized plan for the life we desire.

Emphasizing holistic wellness, I inspire and empower individuals to design a proactive aging roadmap that reflects who they are and how they want to live. I am equally committed to supporting family caregivers—equipping them with the tools, confidence, and guidance they need to navigate the caregiving journey with clarity and compassion.

Because aging isn’t something to fear, it’s something to celebrate.

Praise

"When we met April, my husband and I were having a difficult time dealing with my husband’s mother who has dementia.I can best describe our interactions with April in the following manner….
We were drowning and April threw us a life preserver.
First, April assessed our situation and suggested options to help us develop a long term care plan for mom. She provided tools and resources we needed to understand and cope with the progression of mom’s disease.
April continues to guide and mentor us through the confusing phases and challenges of mom’s Dementia.
April’s compassion, knowledge, professionalism and sense of humor is second to none and we highly recommend her to anyone going through similar unknown territories."-

"April was a godsend in helping me find care and eventually an assisted living facility for my husband. She was able to explain and sort through my options while lending support during my decisions. She facilitated contacts, viewing visits, and even accompanied us to appointments when necessary.  She provided guidance and helpful resources in an overwhelming situation. There is no doubt that April is experienced and knowledgeable in her field, but what makes her so special is her compassion and ability to cut through your mind's clutter and give you peace of mind (as well as the occasional pep talk!)."- Dawn

"April is a gem! As a dynamic advocate for our senior family member in crisis, she went the extra mile to coordinate her transition to appropriate housing. April’s expertise and compassion helped us through a very challenging time." - Diane

"April Ibarra has an incredible passion for older adults and ensuring their voice is heard. She is not afraid to broach tough topics about aging and help us see these issues through the lens of the older adult and what is best for them. Additionally, April is great to work with and a fantastic speaker. I have been honored to work alongside her and to have her as a guest on my Caregiver Chats podcast." -Lakelyn Eichenberger, Ph.D., Gerontologist and Caregiving Advocate - Home Instead
